Because Its Protocol is a project that came out of my work with the Summer of Protocols program in the summer of 2024. SoP studies protocols as a first class subject. In its first year, the program produced a series of great research papers. All of them are worth reading but I particularly enjoyed Standards Make The World and Protocols Don’t Build Pyramids by

. The first short story in this series is inspired by the concept of Kafka Protocols introduced by Nadia Asparouhova in her research on Dangerous Protocols.

My goal over the next year is to publish a short series of detective stories with protocols at the center of the mystery. The stories would be low gravitas attempts at understanding protocols myself while having some fun.
